Creative Inspiration: Malcolm Gladwell

My friend Seth told me about this great article, "How David Beat Goliath," by Malcolm Gladwell in this week's New Yorker. It's all about how underdogs can triumph over the establishment if they are willing to work relentlessly and break all of the rules. Here are my favorite quotes from the article:

"David can beat Goliath by substituting effort for ability..."

"We tell ourselves that skill is the precious resource and effort is the commodity. It’s the other way around. Effort can trump ability...because relentless effort is in fact something rarer than the ability to engage in some finely tuned act..."

"When the world has to play on Goliath’s terms, Goliath wins."
